Getting Started

  • Complete your intake.  Prior to your appointment, you will be emailed a link to the Client Portal.  Here you will have access to read and sign the Informed Consent for Psychotherapy, Practice Policies, and Privacy Practices.  You will also have access to the Intake Questionnaire, which will need to be filled out to completion at least 24 hours prior to your appointment.  If you have any questions, do not hesitate to discuss them ahead of time by phone or email, or at your appointment.

  • Give yourself time.  Be sure that you've given yourself an adequate amount of time to attend your appointment, plus some time to recover after.  Therapy often brings up many emotions and you may need some time to process what was discussed before engaging in stressful activities such as work or school.

  • Evaluate your finances.  Be sure you are prepared financially at the time of your appointment.  If you are having difficulty, feel free to discuss finances or budgeting as part of your therapy, or prior to your appointment

  • Organize your thoughts.  Sometimes it can be difficult to remember everything that you want to talk about when your appointment comes up.  Journaling your thoughts or writing some points down prior to your appointment can help us both to make the best use of our time together.  Your journal or notes don't have to be fancy.  There are many free journaling and notepad apps available for your smartphone or tablet, but a piece of paper works just as well.
